ARTPERISCOPE ART. PROJECT THE THIRD INTERNET ARTWORK COMPETITON

1.. Every artist is permitted to submit three artworks in one of the chosen formats: painting, graphics, computer graphics, monochromatic photography, college, drawing. All submitted artworks must be copywrited. Maximum capacity of the submitted artwork should not be larger than: 800 px ( width ) and 600 px ( height ), resolution 72 dpi. Participation in the competition is free. The jury made up of experts will choose the artworks to qualify to the next step of the competition.
2.. Artists who qualify will be contacted via e-mail. Every qualified participant will have to make a payment of 35 euro (55 USD or 28 GBP) for the organizers of the competition. All accepted artworks will be shown on our website for 6 months.
3.. From all qualified artworks the jury will select a winner who will receive a grand prix cheque for $1000 and who will be able to present 20 artworks on our website for the period of one year. Runner-ups prizes: a.. five 1st prizes of a yearly promotion and showing 12 artworks on our website b.. five 2nd prizes of a 6 months promotion and showing 12 artworks on our website c.. five 3rd prizes of a three monts promotion and showing 12 artworks on our website All qualified artworks that did not win will be shown on our website for the period of six months.
4.. Organizers will also ask authors of the awarded artworks to send them again in much higher resolution. These artworks will be printed to mdimensions of 100cm - 70cm and exhibited in Cafe Blikle Gallery in Czestochowa in June 2008. All invited participants will receive photo album from this exhibition.
5.. Dates and deadlines: deadline for receiving all artworks is 5th may 2008 Review results 10th may 2008 Final results 5th june 2008. Organizers of the competion maintain all rights to use the artwork images in all media forms - electronic, printed or otherwise. Am 11. und 12. Oktober 2008 sind europäische Künstlerorganisationen und -initiativen, die über eigene Ausstellungsräume verfügen und internationale Austauschprojekte realisieren, in die Berliner Akademie der Künste (Hanseatenweg) eingeladen. Im Rahmen eines offenen Forums sollen Best-Practice-Beispiele vorgestellt werden. Konkrete Fragen des Künstleraustausches werden in einem Workshop diskutiert. European artist associations and initiatives, running their own exhibition spaces and galleries, are invited to participate in ART SWAP EUROPE on October 11 and 12, 2008 in Berlin. IGBK together with the Akademie der Künste will host an open forum for presentations of concepts and spaces and for meetings. Furthermore practical questions of international exchange projects will be discussed in a workshop. The Biennial is an international show in graphic arts. It was organized for the first time in 2002. Already in that first year, it became a prominent international event for authors in graphic arts using conventional techniques, and contributed considerably to the presentation of the Plzen Region in tourism and in the cultural and social life in the Region. Each consequential show had moved the Biennial both in quality and the number of entered artists. We believe that the show in 2008 meets the same expectations.
The Status of an International Show
The 3nd Rokycany Biennial in Graphic Arts

§ 1
The Biennial is an international show of graphic artists, who use classic graphic techniques. The participation in the Biennial is not limited.

§ 2
The main organizer is Agentura AM art, s.r.o. The co-organizer is the Museum of Dr. Bohuslav Horák in Rokycany and eventually other approvedbodies.
All principal issues of the show are decided by the Presidium, consisting of the representatives of the main organizer and co-organizers. The executive powers lie with the ORGANIZATION STAFF, headed by the Program Director. All main organizers, co-organizers and media partners willappear in the show as agreed and in compliance with their respective contracts.
§ 3
Graphic-art works will be concentrated, appraised and awarded in the international show “The Rokycany Biennial in Graphic Arts” in a single competition category.
The goal and mission of “The Rokycany Biennial in Graphic Arts” is to provide opportunities to the participating artists to present and popularize their work.
§ 4
The bodies of the show are the PRESIDIUM and the ORGANIZATION STAFF. The Presidium manages the Biennial preparation and course and is appointed by the main organizers. The Presidium is the highest executive body of the show. It represents the organizers in the show preparation and during the course of the show.The ORGANIZATION STAFF manages the show in the technical and organizational point of view. The Presidium appoints the members of the Organization Staff and checks its operations. The show is represented externally by the President of the Biennial.
On the recommendation of the Jury, the organizers award the following prizes:
1. The Main Biennial Award
2. Special recognition
3. Other prizes awarded by organizing and co-organizing firms
The Jury has the right not to award any of the prizes. The prizes cannot be shared. Authors who are members of the Jury or of the organization bodies of the show will not be awarded.
§ 5
Financially, the festival is prepared and realized by the main organizers and co-organizers within the scope and form of their respective contracts.
§ 6
The show program consists of the following events:
- Preview
- Prize awards
- The show of competition and non-competition works
- Final
- Other side events
§ 7
The show has a character of competition where no order of winners will be sought but prestigious prizes will be awarded.The show is not limited thematically.
The works are entered for the competition by their authors. Those works that appeared at other competitions and shows can also be entered.
The organizer reserves the right to refuse works propagating racial intolerance, drugs, violence, and pornography, or otherwise being inconsistent with the law of the Czech Republic.
§ 8
The Jury is appointed by the PRESIDIUM and consists of experts in the field.
The Jury elects a chairman to represent it externally. The Jury will prepare a final report on its work and results achieved.
§ 9
Side events can be organized along with the show.
§ 10
By filing an application the applicant undertakes to respect the conditions of the show.
The transport of showpieces to the show will be paid for by the applicants. The showpieces will be sent in accordance with the instructions defined in the application form. The number of showpieces is not limited.
Application fee makes 500 Kc / or 20 €. If the applicant leave his exposed showpieces in possession of organizers, his participation in the Biennial is free of charge.
§ 11
Competition
The competition is held in one category only, without any limitation and for one main award.
Possible other prizes will be awarded by the sponsors.
The main award is endowed with an amount of CZK 10 000

Regulations: 5th INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL OF MINIATURE ART Czestochowa 2008 (painting - graphic art - drawing - monochromatic photography)

PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS:
1. The exhibition has competitive character. It is open to professional artists and students of final years of Art Academies.

2. Each artist may send three entries in any technique /with the exception of bookplates/, maximum format 10x10cm (4'x4' inches), outer dimensions of pass-partou may not exceed 20x20cm (8'x 8' inches). During the exhibition the entries will be presented under glass. ENTRIES CANNOT BE FRAMED OR UNDER GLASS. NB: Framed entries and entries exceeding the stated format will not beconsidered and will not be returned.

4. Each work must state the following on the reverse:
- artist's name and surname
- title, release date, technique, dimensions
- address

5. Entries shall be sent at artists' own expense. Organizers return the entries at their expense.

6. Organizers shall not be held responsible for any losses or damages to the works during transportation.

7.Do not declare the value of the parcel on dispatchment and mark it as „printed matter/no commercial value” to avoid the custom clearance procedure. The organizers will not accept a registered parcel that requires special custom clearance.

AWARDS:
Jury selected by the organizers shall qualify the entries and award theGrand Prix and money awards. Honorary awards shall be granted as well. The verdict will be delivered only in the Internet: www.biennale.art.pl. The winning entries become the organizers' property. All artists qualified to participate in exhibition shall receive the
official exhibition catalogue.
